Contents of the Guidance for Prospective Students for Global Art Practice(International Students)

1. Eligibility to apply

Applicants to the Global Art Practice (GAP) MFA program for international students at
Graduate School of Fine Arts must be of a nationality other than Japanese and meet
one of the requirements listed in the Guidance.

2. When to apply

Registration period for online application,  online submission for application documents and remittance for screening fee:
Begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 17th and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August
24th, 2020.(Japan time)

Upload period for screening examinations documents (Portfolio, Supplementary materials, Self-introductory video):

Begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 17th and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, August
27th, 2020.(Japan time)

* To upload screening examination documents such as Portfolio, Supplementary materials, Self-introductory video, use the file transfer system of Tokyo University of the Arts, indicated in the PDF file above “Manner of submitting screening examinations documents as a data file GAP Entrance Examinations for International Students”.

3. Screening fee

Amount: 36,000 yen

4. Documents to submit online

●Documents proving eligibility to apply
●Statement of reasons for application
●Letters of recommendations
●Certificate of English language ability
and others.  Applicants also must submit their portfolio data according to the instructions of the above PDF through the file transfer system of Tokyo University of the Arts within the designated period.

5. Screening method/Examination dates

We decide whether to admit a student based on comprehensive evaluations that
include assessments of academic abilities by the Graduate School and review of documents uploaded by the applicant.
Deadline for submitting portfolio (online): By 11:59 p.m. Monday, August 24th, 2020 (Japan time)

 

Skype Interview:Thursday, September 17th, 2020 to Wednesday, September 23th, 2020

*We will contact you by email regarding your interview date and time by Monday September 7th,2020

6. Announcement of Results

10 a.m. on Friday, September 25th, 2020
(Successful applicants will be sent admission procedure documents around October 13, 2020.)
